Miracle of 19
May God forgive me and guide me regarding any sign that I would have misinterpreted in this study and elsewhere. May He always guide us to a better understanding of His profound scripture so we can purify ourselves and increase our knowledge.

God puts forward a profound trial for the human race in the form of an allegory in sura 74: The test of number 19. It is a test intended to separate true believers from disingenuous people, as well as strengthen the faith of the sincere and prove the divine origin of the Quran. The sign of number 19 has been abused in many ways in the past, and the goal of this article will be to remain as close as possible to the actual meaning and context of sura 74. God gives us a clue regarding the correct interpretation of number 19 in verses 74:32-35, right after presenting the test and warning to the human race in 74:30-31. We will see that it is about establishing a parallel between the 19 angels who will guard the fire of hell and the fact that the sun, the moon and planet earth have been designed to be part of a system where 19 is the common denominator that reunites them (metonic cycle and 33 year solar-lunar calendar reunion). This world is a final warning before either paradise or the retribution of hell where 19 angels will guard the guilty, and it is the reason why our world bears such a terrifying mathematical signature. The Quran says that the sun and the moon have been designed to “know the number of years and how to calculate” (10:5): We will study the Metonic cycle which reunites the solar and lunar calendars every 19 years and how it is coded in the Quran through key words such as the word “year” and the intersection between “sun” and “moon”. We will also witness that the frequency of the root of the word “day” has been designed in a truly magnificent way to reflect that the solar and lunar calendars are brought back together every 33 solar years, during which time the sun rotation is coded with 19. We will then explain that God encoded a terrible warning based through one of the greatest mathematical sign : The 365 simple forms of the word “day” found in the Quran, which is coded with number 19 and relates to verse 74:50 quoted in the picture above. This is in undoubtedly one of the greatest warning associated with number 19 in the Quran.
Finally, we will prove that the position of verse 74:30 within the 6236 verse numbering system of the Quran is profoundly coded with number nineteen and is a miracle in itself.

Conclusion
Sura 74:30-56
(74:30) Over it are 19 [angels guarding]. (74:31) And we have not appointed as guardians of the fire except angels; and we have not assigned their number (19) except as a test for those who disbelieve, to make sure that those who received the book (mostly Christians and Jews) may reach certainty, and for the believers (Muslims) to increase in faith, as well as to remove all doubt from those who received the book and the believers, and for those who have a disease in their hearts, as well as the disbelievers to say, "What did God intend through this allegory?" This is how God lets go astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is nothing but a reminder for the human race. (74:32) No, by the moon! (74:33) And the night as it nears its end. (74:34) And the morning as it shines, (74:35) It is one of the greatest [signs/miracles]. (74:36) A warning for the human race. (74:37) For those among you who wish to advance, or stay behind. (74:38) Every soul is held against what it earned. (74:39) Except the companions [who lean] towards the right (lit. “the right hand”), (74:40) In gardens, (74:41) Enquiring about the criminals: (74:42) “What led you into Saqar?” (74:43) They replied: “We were not among those who used to perform the ritual prayer,” (74:44) “We used not to feed the needy.” (74:45) “We used to indulge in vain talks like people who blunder,” (74:46) “And we used to deny the Day of judgment,” (74:47) “Until the reality became manifest to us.” (74:48) The intercession of those who resort to intercession will be useless to them. (74:49) What part of the reminder are they turning away from? (74:50) They are scared like zebras; (74:51) Fleeing from a lion. (74:52) In fact, every person among them wishes to be given scrolls that are spread out wide. (74:53) No way! In fact, they do not fear the hereafter! (74:54) Indeed, this is a reminder. (74:55) Whoever wills will take heed. (74:56) No one will take heed except if God so wills. He is the source of righteousness; He is the source of forgiveness.
1. Commentary of sura 74
God informs us that “Over it are 19” (74:30), verse 31 telling us that “it” refers to “the fire” of hell that is guarded by 19 angels: “It” (“Ha” = feminine pronoun in Arabic) cannot directly refer to the word “Quran” as it has been misinterpreted, because it is a masculine word. In fact, it refers, at least primarily, to “the fire” (a feminine word). God then explains that “their number” (the number associated with the angels of hell), i.e. number 19, has been specifically designed as a test that serves several purposes:
(1) It is “a test for those who disbelieve”.
(2) It is a test “to make sure that those who received the book (mostly Christians and Jews) may reach certainty, and for the believers (Muslims) to increase in faith, as well as to remove all doubt from those who received the book and the believers”.
We therefore see that the “test of 19” separates irremediably unbelievers from believers, and that it is a sign that is so powerful that it will increase the faith and provide certainty that the Quran is of divine origin not just to Muslims, but also to sincere Christians and Jews (people of the book)!
Those who fail the test and reject the truth are two kinds of people: “Those who have a disease in their hearts” (they may think that they are believers but they are not) and “the disbelievers”. It is written in the book of God that they will both ponder and say: "What did GOD intend through this allegory?".
Because those who reject the truth say that the test related to number 19 is an “allegory”, we know that the test that we are facing necessitates reflection (and eventually sincerity if one wants to pass the test), which reminds us precisely of verses 74:17-24, where we see that one of those disingenuous people “reflected” but called the test of 19 “a hoax” (or “manipulation”, “magic”) and said “This is nothing but the word of a human being”.
Verses 74:32-34 are vital because God provides us a hidden clue regarding the test of 19:
(74:32) No, by the moon! (74:33) And the night as it nears its end. (74:34) And the morning as it shines.
What does this mean? Very simply, these verses are first and foremost about the alternation between the night and the daylight, as well as about the relationship between the sun and the moon. The main symbol of the alternation of the night and the daylight in the Quran is the word “day” (which symbolizes a 24 hour period), which is coded mathematically at different levels, and which hides the most incredible sign regarding the number 19 as we will see later. The moon is visible in the sky in the verse as the night nears its end, then the morning comes and the sun shines. “The moon” is mentioned by name and the sun is not, but it “shines” as the morning comes. We have therefore the two Quranic entities (the moon and the sun) that symbolize the passage of time and happen to be mathematically related in the Quran in several ways, and allow human beings to calculate the number of years. God says for example:
(55:5) The sun and the moon are perfectly calculated.
(10:5) He is the one who made the sun a shining light and the moon a [reflected] light, and assigned to it phases, that you may know the number of years and how to calculate. God did not create that except in truth. He explains the signs for people who know.
In verses 74:35-39, God proclaims that the test of 19 - which we saw is related to the sun and the moon as symbols of the passage of time is “one of the greatest [signs/miracles]” and a “warning for the human race.” It is a warning “For those among you who wish to advance, or stay behind”, and God reminds us in verse 39 that we are all responsible for our acts and decisions.
19 is both a profound sign and a warning for mankind. Therefore, it is something that no one has the right to deny because it is too obvious and miraculous by nature, but, since it is presented in the form of an allegory and as a test, God leaves the door open for people who are not sincere to reject it for various personal reasons, for instance the fear of changing religion and becoming Muslims.
Verses 74:39-49 shows people blessed with paradise conferring with people who are in “Saqar” (hell) and asking them why they ended up there. The reasons are that they were not Muslim because they did not perform the ritual prayer, were not charitable people (did not pay the zakât nor were charitable), engaged in vain talks, and denied the Day of Judgment. We also see that none of them could benefit from any intercession on the Day of Judgment (verse 48), as God alone will judge us on that day. Then God asks a critical question, which is: “What part of the reminder (the Quran) are they turning away from? (74:50), which reminds us of the catastrophic reaction of the man who “turned his back, filled with pride” in verse 74:23 and said it was “nothing but a hoax, like we’ve seen before!”.
Sura 74 and the test of 19 is about mathematical signs engraved in the Quran and related to the number 19 that will prove to the human race that the reminder (the Quran) is the Word of God.
The next two verses confirm that throngs of people will run away from “the reminder” (the Quran) and its proofs when they become manifest:
(74:50) They are scared like zebras; (74:51) Fleeing from a lion.
The proofs that are manifested are so undeniable that God says that those who reject the truth are the kind of people who would require to be given instead “scrolls that are spread out wide”, that is to say the equivalent of a divine book directly descended from the sky in front of their eyes; only then may they believe (74:52).
The last verses of the sura (74:53-56) say that such people “do not fear the hereafter” and God repeats one more time that this Quran is “a reminder” to attempt to guide and save people, but that people have first to be “willing” that is to say be sincere, to make the proper decisions:
(74:55)
Whoever wills will take heed. (74:56) No one will take heed except if
God so wills. He is the
source of righteousness; He is the source of forgiveness.

2. The Metonic cycle, the great chef d’oeuvre of astronomy:
We saw in the commentary that verses 74:32-34 provide the clue regarding the test of 19, which is about the relationship between the sun and the moon and the alternation between the night and the day.
(74:32) No, by the moon! (74:33) And the night as it nears its end. (74:34) And the morning as it shines.
As shown for instance in verse 10:5 cited in the commentary, the sun and the moon are symbols that allow us “know the number of years and how to calculate”. The concept of days and years are key here, and we are going to see that the Quran is coded mathematically to reflect the reality of the solar system and how the sun and the moon are divinely designed to form a system ruled by number 19.
In the solar system, the sun, the moon and our planet realign in the same relative position exactly every 19 years, which, astonishingly, corresponds to the day to a perfect 235 lunar month cycle. This means for example that after exactly 19 years to the day, the new moons happen again at the same period of the year.
Divinely designed mathematical alignment:
365.2425 days (1 solar year) × 19 years = 6939.6075 days.
235 lunar months × 29.53059 days (1 lunar month) = 6939.68865 days
Astonishingly, 19 solar years are shorter than 235 lunar months by only about 2 hours! Such is the level of precision of this divinely designed alignment.
If we divide 235 lunations by 19 years (235/19 = 12.368…), we get an average of 12 lunations per year, with a remainder of seven lunar months (19 × 12 = 228; 228 + 7 = 235 lunar months). In lunisolar calendars based on the Metonic cycle, most notably the modern Hebrew calendar, those seven months are distributed evenly among seven “leap” years. This technique perfectly adjusts lunar years to solar years over a period of 19 years.
2.1 19 words “solar year” = Metonic cycle
Bearing in mind what we have just said, it is noteworthy that the word “sanat”, which means specifically “solar year” in Quranic Arabic (as the article “Solar Year/Lunar Year” proves it), is divided in 12 regular plurals (sineen = years = سنين, occurs 12 times) and seven singular forms (sanat = year = سنة). Therefore, the Quran contains 12 + 7 = 19 forms that are associated specifically with the concept of solar year, thus reflecting the 19 year Metonic cycle:
2:96 (سنة = year), 5:26 (سنة = year), 7:130 (السنين = the years), 10:5 (السنين = the years), 12:42 (سنين = years), 12:47 (سنين = years), 17:12 (السنين = the years), , 18:11 (سنين = years), 18:25 (سنين = years), 20:40 (سنين = years), 22:47 (سنة = year), 23:112 (سنين = years), 26:18 (سنين = years), 26:205 (سنين = years), 29:14 (سنة = year), 30:4 (سنين = years), 32:5 (سنة = year), 46:15 (سنة = year), 70:4 (سنة = year) = 19 occurrences (in 19 verses).
It is noteworthy that the singular word “lunar year” (“Aam = عام) also occurs seven times in the Quran, possibly matching the seven leap years of 13 lunar months required for the lunar calendar to catch up with 19 solar years.
2.2 “Sun” and “moon” intersect 19 times
The words "sun" and "moon" "intersect" exactly 19 times in 18 verses in the entire Quran (symbolizing the “intersection” or “reunion” of both calendars every 19 years):
6:96 (sun + moon); 7:54 (sun + moon), 10:5 (sun + moon), 12:4 (sun + moon), 13:2 (sun + moon), 14:33 (sun + moon), 16:12 (sun + moon), 21:33 (sun + moon), 22:18 (earth + sun + moon), 29:61 (sun + moon), 31:29 (sun + moon), 35:13 (sun + moon), 36:40 (sun + moon), 39:5 (sun + moon), 41:37 (sun + moon: twice), 55:5 (sun + moon), 71:16 (moon + sun), 75:9 (sun + moon) = 19 intersections.
Out of these 19 "intersections" (19 words “sun” + 19 words “moon”), the words "Earth", "Sun" and "Moon" are mentioned consecutively (symbolizing an alignment) only once in verse 22:18, reflecting the 19 year cycle that realigns in the same relative position once every 19 years. More importantly, the meaning of the 19th and last intersection in the Quran of the words “sun” and “moon” (verse 75:9) is truly astonishing when it comes to the fact that the sun and the moon reunite or intersect symbolically every 19 years:
(75:9) When the sun and the moon come together.
It is also striking that the 19th intersection (75:9) occurs in sura 75, right after sura 74 which announces the sign of number 19.
3. The test of 19
3.1 19 and Hell
The angels in 74:31 are called the “keepers (or guardians) of the fire”. In the entire Quran, the very same expression (same orthography: اصحب النار, GV 383) refers 19 times to “the companions of the fire”, that is to say people who will incur the hellfire: 2:39 (1); 2:81 (1); 2:217 (1); 2:257 (1); 2:275 (1); 3:116 (1); 5:29 (1); 7:36 (1); 7:44 (1); 7:47 (1); 7:50 (1); 10:27 (1); 13:5 (1); 39:8 (1); 40:6 (1); 40:43 (1); 58:17 (1); 59:20 (1); 64:10 (1) = 19 times.
The last occurrence in 74:31 is thus the only time that the expression refers instead to the 19 angels who will “guard the fire”, and will therefore guard “the companions of the fire” that are mentioned 19 times in the Quran. We can legitimately wonder if there will be one angel in charge of 19 separate groups of people assigned to hell, God knows best.
3.2. The concept of gematrical values:
Semitic cultures like Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic did not originally have a numeration system like we do today. Just like in any society, people needed to calculate and they had designed their own system based on the Arabic alphabet where numerical values were assigned to each and every letter. Up to this day, people in some Arab countries still count using letters.
Here are the numerical values or “Gematrical Values” (often abbreviated as “GV” throughout this study) of letters of the Arabic alphabet:

To
understand how to calculate gematrical values, you need to know that:
- ة (called "ta marbuta") is counted as
5, since it is counted as a "Ha" (ه), same shape, and not a "Ta" (ت = GV
400). "Ta marbuta" is often pronounced as a slight "ha" (ه).
- The letter “ء” ("Hamza", the glottal stop) which some people count as 1 is not part of the original script revealed to the prophet, therefore it should never be counted.
The concept of gematrical values will prove to be essential to fully understand the sign of 19.
3.3 The duration of hell
It is interesting that the only gematrical value or expression in the entire Quran that refers to the duration of hell (see the article “Is Hell Eternal”) in the Quran seems to be a highly symbolical multiple of 19:
(7:40) Surely, those who reject our revelations and are too arrogant to uphold them, the gates of the sky will never open for them, nor will they enter Paradise until the camel passes through the needle's eye. We thus requite the guilty.
The expression “until the camel passes through the needle's eye” (حتى يلج الجمل فى سم الخياط) has a gematrical value of 1406 = 19×74 (adding the mathematical value of each letter in the expression). Since number 19 is mentioned in letters only once in the entire Quran in sura 74, and since hell is so closely related to the sign of 19, it is a very interesting sign since it relates to the notion of “passage of time” or duration of hell.
4. 1.03: The solar/lunar ratio miracle
Remark: Before we get to witness decisive signs related to number 19, we are going to explain in the next few sections mathematical signs of the Quran that are not directly related to number 19, but that will gradually provide the context to fully understand the sign.
(10:5) He is the one who made the sun a shining light and the moon a [reflected] light, and assigned to it phases, that you may know the number of years and how to calculate. God did not create that except in truth. He explains the signs for people who know.
The above verse shows that contrary to common belief, the Quran, and therefore a pure Islamic society, take into account both a solar and lunar calendars as calculation devices, and not just the lunar one.
4.1 18:25 and the sign of 1.03
Both calendars are mathematically coded in many ways in the Quran especially in verse 18:25, which provides the exact difference in years between the solar and lunar calendars:
(18:25) And they (the companions of the cave) remained in their cave 300 solar years (sinin = Solar years), and they add nine.
300 solar years equal exactly 309 lunar years, expressed in years. Let us now calculate the ratio between the two numbers:
309 lunar years/300 solar years = 1.03.
The ratio between the two numbers happens to be a crucial recurrent Quranic figure that is coded miraculously in multiple ways throughout the Quran. We will provide several very profound examples in this study.
4.2 “solar year” and “lunar year” and the 1.03 ratio
Two completely different words are used in the Quran to express the idea of a year. A careful analysis of the meaning of relevant verses reveals that it differentiates clearly a solar year (سنة = sanat, GV 115) and a lunar year (عام = ‘Aam, GV 111). Sanat (solar year) is used for example to provide the age of humans (for instance 2:96 & 46:15), as it is naturally calculated in solar years in almost all cultures on earth to remain in phase with the seasons, and ‘Aam (lunar year) is used for example to define the time of Hajj in 9:37, which in Islam relies on a pure lunar calendar without intercalation.
Let us simply calculate the ratio between the gematrical values of “sanat” (solar year) and “‘Aam” (lunar year):
115/111 = 1.03603…
Gematrical values of words are extremely diverse in the Quran (gematrical values of individual letters alone vary from 1 to 1000), and it is statistically quite astounding that the ratio between the two gematrical values (“sanat” = سنة, GV 115 & “’aam” = عام, GV 111) is within the 1.03 range, reflecting the Quranic figure of 1.03 expressed in 18:25. We are going to see that the Quran encoded several such key average ratios in the 1.03 range, which are not always exactly 1.03 or a scientifically very exact ratio at a given point and time in history with several decimal places, because the length of a solar year and lunar year, though very stable over of few centuries, clearly varies slightly over the course of the history of planet earth, and no single precisely exact ratio at a given point and time could reflect the exact reality until the day of judgment. The 1.03 relationship between gematrical values of “sanat” and “‘aam” is therefore no more than based on a very astonishing average that will remain, in my opinion, valid until the Day of Judgment, rather than reflecting a completely scientifically exact one that would be valid only for one year in history for instance. God coded a solar year with 365 words “day” for the very same reason, (it is an average), rather than a more precise number with decimal places, because it varies historically over hundreds or thousands of years.
Remark: The most profound phenomenon related to what can be called “the miracle of 1.03” goes far beyond what we will see in this study and I will strongly advise people to read later the articles entitled “Solar Year/Lunar Year”, “Secret of the 7 Sleepers” and especially “Miracle of the Word Day”.
4.3 The solar/lunar ratio in the 365 words “day” system
If you ask a knowledgeable Muslim what is the easiest and most obvious mathematical sign that demonstrates that the Quran is of divine origin, most people would probably mention that the singular form of the word day occurs 365 times throughout the entire Quran. This alone is a profound mathematical miracle of the Quran, as it symbolizes the revolution of our planet around the sun in one year, and thus defines symbolically the solar calendar based on a simple average (365).
Another simple average that is used in Islam to symbolize a “lunar year”, the second relevant calendar used in the Quran, is 354 days, since a lunar year is exactly 354.36708 days.
The current exact duration of a solar year is 365.2425 days, and the exact duration of a lunar year is 354.36708 days. The current and exact Solar/lunar ratio calculated by modern science is therefore:
365.2425/354.36708 days = 1.03068…
Adding all gematrical values of all 365 words day we get 22781 (Quranic mathematical representation of a solar year) and the total of gematrical values of the first 354 words “day” is 22103 (Quranic mathematical representation of a lunar year).
365 words “day” and gematrical value count of the word day for each verse:
1:4 (1), يوم G.V. 56; 2:8 (1), اليوم G.V. 87; 2:48 (1), يوما G.V. 57; 2:62 (1), اليوم G.V. 87; 2:85 (1), يوم G.V. 56; 2:113 (1), يوم G.V. 56; 2:123 (1), يوما G.V. 57; 2:126 (1), اليوم G.V. 87; 2:174 (1), يوم G.V. 56; Remark: The above gematrical value count focuses solely on the word “day” and does not take into account conjunctions nor prepositions attached to the word, because they obviously have nothing to do with the meaning of the word “day”.
Dividing gematrical values of all 365 words “day” (22781 = mathematical representation of a solar year) by the first 354 words “day” (22103 = mathematical representation of a lunar year), we get:

The level of accuracy between the two ratios is a tremendous statistical miracle.
As a matter of comparison, the ratio between numbers 365 and 354 (365/354 = 1.03107…) is far from the level of accuracy observed above, but as a result of the very specific way the words day are spelled throughout the Quran, and the divinely arranged differential between gematrical values of the 365 and first 354 words day (22781 & 22103), we witness a stunning ratio that is extremely close to the one currently calculated by modern science, and despite the fact that over 14 centuries have elapsed since the revelation of the Quran.
Unlike the current scientifically accurate ratio (which varies very slightly historically) which is based on the division of two very precise decimal numbers, the Quranic ratio is derived from whole numbers (!!!), which makes it even more stunning; still they are strictly identical up to the fourth decimal place (and almost the fifth). This is statistically very significant, and happens to come from a Quranic system that is symbolically crucial (the 365 words day system) and intended to prove the veracity of the Quran to the human race. This will speak to the heart of the sincere.
4.4 Behind the stunning Solar/Lunar ratio hidden in the 365 word day system, a profound sign confirms that the Quran is coded mathematically
What allows us to witness the stunning ratio “22781/22103 = 1.03067…” is the divinely calculated differential between these two highly significant and symbolical gematrical values. For this reason, and since we are dealing with gematrical values, we are going to study the difference between the two above key numbers and subtract 22103 from 22781. Since we are claiming that this is divine sign, we are going to see if God would have coded similarly remarkable proofs at an even deeper level:

In addition to the fact that:
- (1) There are 365 words day,
- (2) That the gematrical value ratio (based on whole numbers) between the 365 and first 354 words day is so close to the one currently observed by modern science (22781/22103 = 1.03067… & 365.2425 /354.36708 = 1.03068…)
- (3) We have
an additional phenomenal confirmation that the Quran is coded mathematically
through the difference between the two numbers: 22781 - 22103 = 678 = “In a protected Book” (GV 56:78).
What else do we need to understand that we are dealing here with a divine scripture, revealed by an Omnipotent God?! If this is not enough for you, then what about the next proof?:

5. The word day and number 19
5.1 365 words day and number 19: “They are scared like zebras” (74:50)
Let us read again the key verses regarding the allegory of 19:
(74:38) Every soul is held against what it earned…(74:49) What part of the reminder are they turning away from? (74:50) They are scared away like zebras, (74:51) Fleeing from a lion.
We have just witnessed the profound signs between the solar and lunar calendars in the 365 words day system, which illustrate the interrelation between the moon, the sun and planet earth depicted in 74:32-34, located right after the test of number 19 (74:30-31). Most importantly, verses 74:32-34 stress on the fact that the alternation between the night and the daylight (symbolized by the word day in the Quran) is the sign that 19 will bring lots of sincere people out of the darkness into the light, and will strengthen the faith of sincere believers, leaving the others in doubt and running like zebras to escape from the truth.
The angels of hell are the guardians of “the fire”, and their number (19) is a test for mankind. When it comes to our solar system, the main source of “fire” is the sun, and the solar calendar reflects the revolution of planet earth around it (the fire) in 365 days. Number 365 is not a multiple of 19, but what about the gematrical values of the critically important number 22781, which is the addition of gematrical values of each and every letter of all 365 words “day” in the Quran? Let us witness a most profound sign:

Remarks: The gematrical value of the key expression "Zebras scared away" (حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ) is 1083 = 3 × 19 × 19. Zebras are scared away from the lion. If we add the gematrical value of the word "zebras" (حُمُرٌ, GV 241, also signifies "donkeys", both being part of the same family) to the gematrical value of the word "lion" (قَسْوَرَةٍ, GV 371), we get 241 + 371 = 619 = 114th prime number = 2 × 3 × 19.
I encourage everyone to verify the gematrical value count of the 365 words day which detail has been displayed earlier in section 4.3, and which can be compared with any Quran in the world. I myself verified it several times extremely precisely and it is an incontrovertible fact that all gematrical values of the 365 words day add up to 22781 = 19 × 1199.
At this point, it is up to everyone to assess if this is a divine sign from God which warning associated with the number 19 is self-explanatory, or if it is just baseless manipulation of numbers or a hoax. It is up to everyone to assess if this is just an incredible coincidence, compounded to the fact that this appears specifically in an extremely significant system (the 365 word day system!) or if it is a miraculous sign which proves that the Quran is God’s word, which has been coded mathematically in the most profound way to warn the human race and to separate believers from disingenuous people who will reject God’s proofs no matter what kind of sign is presented to them (6:4, 6:25, 7:132, 10:97, 30:58, 36:46).
It will be up to everyone to either believe the signs and their consequence regarding the origin of the Quran, or run away from them, being “scared away like zebras”.
(74:18) Indeed, he carefully reflected, and made up his mind, (74:19) May he perish as a result of what he decided! (74:20) One more time: May he perish as a result of what he decided! (74:21) He then looked around, (74:22) He frowned and scowled, (74:23) He then turned his back, filled with pride: (74:24) “This is nothing but a hoax, like we’ve seen before!” (74:25) “This is nothing but the word of a human being!” (74:26) Soon, I will cast him into Saqar! (74:27) And what will explain to thee what Saqar is? (74:28) It neither spares, nor releases, (74:29) and it burns the flesh. (74:30) Over it are 19 [angels guarding]. (74:31) And we have not appointed as guardians of the fire except angels; and we have not assigned their number (19) except as a test for those who disbelieve, to make sure that those who received the book (mostly Christians and Jews) may reach certainty, and for the believers (Muslims) to increase in faith, as well as to remove all doubt from those who received the book and the believers, and for those who have a disease in their hearts, as well as the disbelievers to say, “What did God intend through this allegory?” This is how God lets go astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills.
More profound Signs:
Number 19 occurs 13 times in the 365 words “day” system either as a sura number (8 times) or verse number (5 times as a verse number), and the word “day” occurs exactly 19 times in this sub-group:
9:19 (1), 18:19 (2), 19:15 (3), 19:26 (1), 19:33 (3), 19:37 (1), 19:38 (2), 19:39 (1), 19:85 (1), 19:95 (1), 41:19 (1), 54:19 (1), 82:19 (1) = 19 words “day”.
It
is a simple and profound hidden sign that number 19
plays a major role in the 365 words “day”
system.
A most profound and miraculous system hidden within the 365 words "day" system:
From
1:4 (first verse which mentions the
word “day” in the Quran) to 56:78 [GV 678
= “in a protected book” = gematrical value of the difference between 22781 (GV of the 365 words “day”) and 22103 (GV of the first 354 words “day”)] there are:
5054 numbered verses = 2×7×19×19
This is, needless to say, including 9:128-129.
From
56:78 (In a protected book, GV 678) to 101:4, last
verse of the “365 words day system”
(where cumulated gematrical values of the word day reach 22781 (= 19 × gematrical value of “They are scared away like zebras”), there
are:
1105 numbered verses, gematrical
value of
“19” (تسعة عشر) as written
in 74:30.
In other words, the position
of verse 56:78 within the 365 words “day”
system defies the laws of statistics: 19×19×1105 = 398905: There is therefore one chance in about 400,000 that such a system would be coincidental.
So which number “protects” the day system in the Holy Quran? Clearly, it is number Nineteen. We saw earlier that 19 years is what it takes for the sun, moon and the earth to realign in the same relative position (Metonic cycle). The difference between 365 and 354 days (average lunar year) is therefore relevant pertaining to number 19.
Remark: 101:4, the last verse of the 365 words "day" system has a gematrical value of 1995 = 3 × 5 × 7 × 19. The 19th word "day" (يوما), which occurs in 2:181, has a gematrical value of 57 = 19 × 3.
- It quite obvious that sura 56, where 56:78 is found, is the gematrical value of the word day.
- Sura 74 is the only sura that has 56 verses, also gematrical value of the word day. It is no surprise to see that those most profound signs regarding number 19 are associated with the word day.
5.2 All forms of the word “day” are also coded with 19!
Concerning the word day and beyond the fact that there are 365 simple singular words in the Quran, let us witness the following:
- There are also a total of 475 words in the Quran that share the same root as the word day (19 × 25, including all derivatives).
-
These 475 forms occur in 437 verses (19
× 23).
It is appropriate to mention here that it has been scientifically proven that the average length of pregnancy of a human being is 266 days (2 × 7 × 19), i.e. 38 weeks (19 × 2) from fertilization until birth (Langman's medical embryology, by TW Sadler), which demonstrates again that the sign of 19 is linked to the concept of time. The 266th word “day” (19 × 14) of the Quran occurs in verse 43:65 which is the 247th word “day” (19 × 13) of the 365 word “day” system of the Quran. Furthermore, the addition of gematrical values of the first 266 words “day” is 16644 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 19 × 73 = 19 × 876.
There is something truly extraordinary behind the fact that an average pregnancy lasts exactly 266 days = 38 weeks:
29.53058885 (average duration of a lunar month) × 9 months = 265.77529965, which can therefore be rounded to 266 days!
Simply put, an average human pregnancy lasts exactly 9 lunar months to the day (!). This period is symbolically equal to the first part of the lunar year until the end of the month of Ramadan, a profound sign.
5.3
475 days (19×25) (= number of derivatives of the word "day" in the entire Quran), what does it mean?
- The word sun occurs 33 times in the Quran, because it symbolizes the 33 solar years that it takes for the solar and lunar calendar to come back together at the same time of the year. For instance, the fast of Ramadan comes back to the same period of the year every 33 years. It means that regardless of where people live on earth, people fast the same length of time over a period of 33 years.
- During those 33 years, the sun rotates around itself 475 times (using the concept of a Carrington rotation), or 19 × 25. In other words, the sun experiences 475 “days” (or rotations) over 33 years (!), which is in my view the hidden the reason why there are 475 forms of the word day in the Quran.
Remark: Richard Christopher Carrington determined the rotation of the sun (Carrington rotation) from low latitude sunspots in the 1850s and calculated it as being 25.38 days for a sidereal rotation period (complete 360º rotation of the sun around its axis).
33 years is 365.2425 × 33 = 12053.0025 days.
475 sidereal rotations of the sun = 475 × 25.38 days = 12055.5 days (= 33 years).
There is thus only a difference of about 2.5 days between the two figures!
We can therefore not only say that the solar and lunar calendars reunite after 33 years, but also that in the same time, the sun completes 475 sidereal rotations (= 19 × 25)!
Multiple Meaning of 74:30?
(74:30) “Over it (ha = feminine pronoun) is/are nineteen”:
There will be 19 angels that will guard “the fire” (a feminine word) in hell which relates to the feminine pronoun ha in 74:30 (Alayha Tis’ata ‘Ashara). It is clear, and it is the primary meaning. Since it is overwhelmingly obvious that number 19 also “guards” the 365 words day Quranic system, and since the Quran is also called “the reminder” (a feminine word) several times in sura 74, we can legitimately wonder if we can also interpret the number 19 to be “over the reminder (the Quran)”. Similarly, “the sun” (الشمس), like “the fire” (النار) is also feminine is Arabic. Regardless, the test of the number 19 is something that people have to face in this present life and before the Day of Judgment, and it is a Quranic sign. It is up to you to judge.
5.4 The last word day in sura 74
- The word day occurs twice in sura 74 (74:9, 74:46) and they are respectively the 332nd and 333rd occurrences of the word day since the beginning of the Quran.
- It is noteworthy that the addition of all gematrical values of all first 333 occurrences of the word day (up to 74:46) is 20862 = 19 × 1098.
It is interesting that there is only one verse in the Quran with a gematrical value of 1098:
(40:54) A guide and a reminder for those of understanding.
The word “a guide” (هدى = hudan) as a gematrical value of 19, and the verse contains 19 letters.
Also,
22781 (GV of all 365 words day) - 20862
(GV of the word day up to 74:46) = 1919.
Dividing the two gematrical values generates naturally a multiple of 19 since
both numbers are multiple of 19, but it is interesting to see that it is a concatenation
of 19 and 19.
5.5 How many degrees does the earth
rotate in a day of 24 hours, i.e. in one solar day?
A solar day is calculated comparatively to the position of the sun. In other terms, it is the average time for the sun to return to the very same point in the sky, which is generally measured taking the zenith of the sun as a point of reference, assumed to be midday to use exactly 24 hours as a reference. One average solar day is 24 hours. The earth accomplishes a complete 360 degree rotation on its axis in 23 hours and 56 minutes (23 h 56 min 4.0905 exactly on average), which is a sidereal day, or 1 day relative to the seemingly fixed distant stars. Any given star can be used for that calculation.
The earth completes a 360 degree rotation in one sidereal day which equals on average 86164.0905 seconds (23 h 56 min 4.0905 s or 23.9344696 h). In other words, the earth completes a one degree rotation in 86164.0905 seconds/360 degrees = 239.3446958333333 seconds.
There are 3600 seconds in an hour, therefore 3600 × 24 = 86400 seconds in a day.
Since the earth rotates by one degree every 239.3446 seconds, all we have to do is divide the number of seconds in 24 hours (86400 seconds) by 239.3446 seconds (1 degree rotation of the earth) to know the exact number of degrees that the earth rotates in 24 hours:
86400/239.344695… = 360.9856474954611 degree rotation of the earth in 24 hours.
We can therefore say by rounding the above result that the earth rotates an average of 361 degrees in 24 hours, and 361 = 19×19.
This is the reason why a 361 degree rotation (19×19) of the earth in 24 hours is the average figure retained by mathematicians and astronomers.
Another way to explain simply is that there is approximately a 4 minute difference between a sidereal day (360 degree rotation of the earth) and a solar day of 24 hours. In four minutes, the earth rotates an additional 1 degree, therefore 360 degrees + 1 degree = 361 degree rotation of the earth in 24 hours = 19×19.
Note: How many times does the earth rotate in a solar year of 365 days?
We pointed at the fact that the earth accomplishes a full 360 degree rotation in 86164.0905 seconds. If we calculate the number of seconds in a year (3600 seconds per hour × 24 hours × 365 days = 31,536,000 seconds) and divide the total by 86164.0905 seconds (360 degree rotation of the earth) we obtain the exact number of rotations of the earth in 365 days:
31,536,000 seconds (365 days) / 86164.0905 seconds (exact average time for a 360 degree sidereal rotation of the earth) = 365.9993370440091 = 366 rotations of the earth in 365 days.
Therefore, the earth rotates exactly once more than the number of days in a solar year. I do not believe that it is a coincidence that we obtain such an almost perfect round number of 366 sidereal rotations of the earth in 365 days, bearing in mind that the Quran contain precisely 365 simple forms of the word “day” which is a miracle in itself.
6. The miraculous position of number “nineteen” in the Quran
- Verse 74:30 (“Over it are 19” [angels guarding]”) is the only verse in the entire Quran which mentions number 19 in letters and it is the 5525th numbered verse since the beginning of the Quran (including 9:128-129):
5525 = 1105 × 5.
“1105” is the gematrical value of “Nineteen”. This is extremely significant
statistically as there is obviously only one chance in 1105 to obtain a multiple of 1105 coincidentally.
Some
followers of Rashad Khalifa which believe that 9:128-129 are not part
of the Quran have accused me of engaging in numerology regarding the
miracle of 19. When you tell them that the gematrical value of the word
"waheed" (One and only) in the Quran is 19,
fact which was discovered by Rashad Khalifa and which is a very
substantial proof that demonstrates that "nineteen" is the symbol of the
Oneness of God in the Quran, they accept it right away. When you point
at the fact that the gematrical value of "nineteen" is 1105, and that the number of verses from the first verse of the Quran to 74:30 is 5525 = 1105 × 5, which is an extremely significant sign statistically speaking, they reject it and are "scared away like zebras"
because it includes 9:128-129 which were discarded by Rashad who
pinpointed them based on baseless hadiths (!!!) and presented a mostly
corrupted interpretation of the miracle of 19. Please tell me, because I
would really like to know: What is more straightforward than the number
of verses from the beginning of the Quran (1:1) to verse 74:30 where
number "nineteen" is mentioned?!
Furthermore:
- Adding all sura and verse numbers from 1:1 to 74:30, we get 2775 (total of suras numbers without repeat) + 322771 (total of verse numbers) = 325546 = 19 × 17134.
1105 × 19 = 20,995. The odds to obtain coincidentally the above two facts which very precisely define the exact position
of 74:30 where number "nineteen" is mentioned (number of verses up to
74:30 and addition of sura and verse numbers) is one chance in 20,995.
Whether people like it or not, the position of verse 74:30 within the
frame of the numbering system of the Quran is absolutely extraordinary.
The utmost and most complete way to confirm the entire numbering system of the Quran is to assign one particular sura number to every single verse in the following manner:
1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7, 2:1, 2:2,…9:128, 9:129, 10:1, 10:2…114:5, 114:6.
By proceeding this way we get a 100% most accurate database of 12,472 numbers [209029 (sura numbers total) + 333667 (verse numbers total) = 542696] which provides the most complete picture of the entire numbering system of the Quran (suras and verses) as revealed by Allah. These 12472 numbers include 23669 digits, which is the 2633rd prime number, which itself is the 382nd prime number and first divisible number. I call this way to proceed a “prime number descent”, which is used for other systems throughout the Holy Quran.
In other words, the first divisible number is number 382, which, amazingly, is the gematrical value of “al Quran” (القران = the Quran, GV 382). In other words, this is a most profound hidden way to confirm the entire digit system of all 6236 verses and 114 suras of “the Quran”. Praise be to God.
Getting back to verse 74:30 and number 19 which guards the Holy Quran mathematically, if we proceed the exact same way from 1:1 to 74:30 (assigning one sura number to every single verse), we get a database of:
11050 numbers = 2 × 5 × 5 × 13 × 17 = 1105 × 10.
Verse 74:30 is the only verse where number 19 (GV 1105) is mentioned and it is truly extraordinary that we can read the gematrical value of number 19 directly in number 11050.
For reference, these 11050 numbers from 1:1 to 74:30 add up to 147800 (sura numbers) + 322771 (verse numbers) = 470,571 = 3 × 227 × 691.
these 11050 numbers include 21038 digits = 2 × 67 × 157 = 67 × 314.
This total of digits of all 11050 numbers in this system up to 74:30 is multiple of 67 which is the 19th prime number, and it is noteworthy that number 19 occurs 66 times (gematrical value of “Allah”) as a verse or sura number up to 74:19, and if we include number 19 in the text in 74:30, it makes it the 67th occurrence (19th prime number) of number 19 up to 74:30. Therefore, the fact that these 11050 numbers up to 74:30 include 21038 digits (= 67 × 314) is in my view a hidden sign to confirm the frequency of number 19 (GV 1105) up to 74:30.
These most profound signs will DISTURB and HAUNT people who followed the lies of Rashad Khalifa who tried to amputate the Quran from two verses (9:128-129), thus deviating from the truth.
What is easier to obtain coincidentally: A multiple of 19 or a multiple of 1105? Is the above a monster coincidence or an authentic miracle? The sincere will appreciate.
- The first letter of the word “nineteen” (the letter “Ta” [ت] in “تسعة عشر”) is the 361st letter (19×19) since the beginning of 74:1. Even if we take into account the unnumbered Bismillah (74:0) which contains 19 letters, the first letter of “nineteen” remains multiple of 19. It is in this case the 380th letter (19×20) from the unnumbered Bismillah. To witness this result, we must discard the hamza in 74:16, as there were no hamzas when the Quran was revealed, as witnessed in all earliest copies of the Holy Quran.
- The second word of “tis’ata ‘ashara” (تسعة عشر = “nineteen”) is the 95th word (19×5) of sura 74. We just saw that from 1:1 to 74:30 there are 5525 verses = 1105 (GV “nineteen”) × 5, which is symbolically equal to “19” × 5 = 95. Therefore, the number of verses (5525) until 74:30 points in a hidden manner at the position of the end of the word “nineteen” (تسعة عشر = “tis’ata ‘ashara”) in sura 74, “’ashara” being the 95th word (19×5).
- The gematrical value of the word “’ashara” (عشر = 95th word = 19×5) is the following:
عشر = GV 570 = 19 × 30.
- The main structure of the Quran is composed of 114 suras (19×6).
- The fundamental expression “In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful” (Commonly called “The “Bismillah”) is found at the beginning of the suras and also occurs 114 times (19×6) in the Quran, despite its conspicuous absence at the beginning of sura 9 (There is an additional Bismillah 19 suras later in 27:30).
- The Bismillah is a 19 letter expression.
- The gematrical value of the three divine attributes of the “Bismillah” (God, Most gracious, Most Merciful) is 684 = 19×36.
- One key aspect of the number 19 is that it provides a divine “proof” that the Quran originates from God. The word “proof” occurs precisely 19 times:
2:211 (1); 6:57 (1); 6:157 (1); 7:73 (1); 7:85 (1); 7:105 (1); 8:42 (2); 11:17 (1); 11:28 (1); 11:53 (1); 11:63 (1); 11:88 (1); 20:133 (1); 29:35 (1); 35:40 (1); 47:14 (1); 98:1 (1); 98:4 (1) = 19.
- The number associated with the angels who will guard hell (19) is what constitutes a great test for mankind: It is noteworthy that there are 30 whole numbers + eight fractions = 38 types of numbers (19×2) in the Quran.
-
The addition of all 30 whole numbers is 162146 = 19
× 8534.
How many words are there in the Quran?
Once we correct three words "ba'da ma" in
2:181, 8:6 and 13:37 which are usually incorrectly written in Sunni
Qurans in one single word instead of two, the grand total of words in
the Quran is:
77433 words (from 1:1 to 114:6) in 6236 numbered verses + 448 words in the 112 unnumbered Bismillahs (112 unnumbered Bismillahs × 4 words) = 77881 = 19 × 4099.
(see the article "Quranic words and 19" on this website for more details.)
Conclusion:
- “Over it (Saqar, i.e. the fire) is 19”: 19 angels will guard the fire of hell.
- The number 19 is a test that separates believers from disingenuous people who reject the signs of God (74:31).
- 74:32-34 gives us a clue that the sign of number 19 is related to the alternation between the night and the daylight (alluding to the concept of the word day), as well as the relationship between the sun and the moon.
- The sun, the moon and our planet realign in the same relative position exactly every 19 years, which, astonishingly, corresponds to the day to a perfect 235 lunar month cycle.
- The word “solar year”, singular and plural, occurs 19 times, reflecting the Metonic cycle.
- The words “sun” and “moon” intersect 19 times in the Quran, also reflecting the 19 year Metonic realignment.
- The sign of 19 is a warning to the human race regarding the day of resurrection and how horrible Saqar (the fire of hell) will be.
(74:9) That day will then be a difficult day,
(74:46) “And we used to deny the day of judgment,”
- The fact that gematrical values of all words “day” up to 74:46 is 20862 = 19×1098 is very significant in this regard [1098 is the gematrical value of 40:54: A guide (GV 19) and a reminder for those of understanding. (19 letter verse)]
- (1) There are 365 words day in the Quran: A self-explanatory and profound sign.
- (2) The solar/lunar ratio based on gematrical values of all 365 divided by the first 354 words “Day” is 22781/22103 = 1.03067…
This is stunningly close to the one calculated by modern science:
365.2425 /354.36708 = 1.03068…
- (3) The difference in gematrical values between 22781 and 22103 is 678, gematrical value of verse 56:78: “In a protected book”.
- (4) The gematrical values of all 365 words “day” is 22781 = 19 × 1199 = 19 × “They are scared away like zebras” (verse 74:50, GV 1199).
- (5) From 1:4 (first word “day” in the Quran) to 56:78 (in a protected book, GV 678) there are 5054 versets = 2×7×19×19.
- (5) From 56:78 (in a protected book, GV 678) to 101:4, last verse of the “365 words day system” (where cumulated gematrical values reach 22781 = 19 × 1199, GV “They are scared away like zebras”), there are 1105 verses, gematrical value of “19”.
- There are 475 derivatives (19×25) of the word day, which occur in 437 verses (19×23).
- The word “sun” occurs 33 times in the holy Quran and it takes 33 years for the solar and lunar calendar to come back together at the same period of the year, during which time the sun rotates 475 times (19×25) around its axis, meaning that the sun experiences 475 days over a 33 year period.
- The position of verse 74:30, which mention the one and only word “nineteen” in the entire Quran is absolutely stunning, as it is the 5525th verse of the Quran, and 5525 = 1105 × 5: “1105” is the gematrical value of “Nineteen”.
- Adding all sura and verse numbers from 1:1 to 74:30, we get 2775 (total of sura numbers without repeat) + 322771 (total of verse numbers) = 325546 = 19 × 17134.
- The first letter of “nineteen” (letter “Ta”) is the 361st letter (19×19) since 74:1. Even including the unnumbered Bismillah (74:0) the first letter is the 380th letter (19×20) since the beginning of the sura.
- The last word of “tis’ata ‘ashara” (تسعة عشر = “nineteen”) is the 95th word (19×5) of sura 74.
عشر = GV 570 = 19 × 30.
- The total number of words in the Quran is 77433 words (from 1:1 to 114:6) in 6236 numbered verses + 448 words in the 112 unnumbered Bismillahs (112 unnumbered Bismillahs × 4 words) = 77881 = 19 × 4099.
Glory to God, Lord of the universe!
If you believe that this article reflects the message of sura 74, please do not be passive and pass down this crucial information around you.
Those who are bent on denying the truth say:
(7:132) “No matter what kind of sign you may produce before us to attempt to dupe us, we will not believe you.”
The believers say:
(3:16)
“Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive our sins and spare us from
the retribution of the fire”.
سَنُرِيهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فِى ٱلْءَافَاقِ وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ
لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
(41:53) We will show them our proofs in the horizons, and within themselves, until they realize that this is the truth. Is your Lord not sufficient as a witness of all things?
